The Pinelands Cricket Academy is now one step closer to realising its dream of making a difference in the community after receiving a scoreboard from long-time supporters Harris Paints. The academy, whose mandate is the complete development of the area's youth through sports and education, was officially presented with the scoreboard yesterday at the Meadow Road field by a representative of the locally-owned business.
The Annual Francophonie Spelling Competition took place on Friday 25th March 2011 at the NIC Conference Centre and by all accounts the event was a tremendous success.
The Sergeant's Village Community has recently benefitted from a facelift thanks to Sunlinc Barbados, who coordinated the event and Harris Paints, who donated over 35 gallons of paint towards sprucing up the Centre.

Harris Paints donated paint to the Pine community recently to beautify the environs and maintain a wonderfully aesthetically pleasing environment in the Pine area. With the new coat of paint and the programmes aimed at community development the Pine is in for a facelift of sorts. Member of Parliament for St. Michael South East, the Hon. Hamilton Lashley, proudly said that the donation was very timely as "We are on the verge of launching a massive community beautification and enhancement programme in this community."

The new Harris Destination Store will be officially opened on Thursday, February 24, 2011 and features the modern, customer friendly concepts and systems launched by Harris Paints, including the “Language of Colour” based Colour Chip display, and Harris Paints’ Quick Match Pro. This is the second location being opened by Harris Paints, the sole manufacturer of paints on the island.
Local Soca star, Nahtalee, will brighten up The Plantation Theatre when she performs the Harris Paints version of “Colours” live for the first time at “eyan” Shades of Gold, a concert being held to celebrate the birthday and career of local musician, Ian Alleyne.
